moments when to… mind your words and temper down
Really, there are moments in life when the best you can do is take the blow as gracefully as you can and wait for it to be over. You can’t escape your own life or the unpleasant/unwanted moments that come as an integral part of being human, but… you can know they are coming and be less shocked.
In this article, we’ll go through the hot periods of 2023, which include (and are not limited to) squares and oppositions between the hard-figures in the zodiac: Mars — planet named after the god of war, the symbol of action, drive or destructive anger; Saturn — the great teacher, which brings the lessons and life exams you can’t ditch. Pluto — which is making buzz this year, as the symbol of radical transformation — god of the Underworld, remember, is shifting from Capricorn through Aquarius, back, then back again.
Certainly, we’ll have plenty of positive and auspicious celestial events this year. I already wrote about the Stellium in Taurus May in Mid May, and how karma & opportunity come together.
However, every year brings some periods when everything around you seems irrational and you wonder WTF is going on? If you’re into astrology, you might even say, ‘there must be something with the planets’. Now that we are past March, and witnessed the ingress of Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius, I looked ahead to see what else is coming. And there are at least 3 fully packed months, where we’ll be challenged and not be allowed to live our lives sleepwalking. The First is July — and I’ll go in detail in this article, then October and November.
July 2023
July brings a shift in the tune our karma plays in our daily lives, because the Lunar Nodes change axis on July 16, from money signs Taurus — Scorpio to relationship-self axis, Aries-Libra. That will not come with a blow, rather it’s a subtle transition in the areas of our lives that we need to balance; we no longer ‘pay’ with money, but with relationship points.
However, the strenuous days are July 21–23, when Pluto in Aquarius 29 degrees forms a square with the Lunar Nodes at 29 degrees (Aries-Libra), and the Sun at 29 degrees Leo forms an opposition to Pluto, and squares the Nodes. Moreover, Saturn in Pisces at 6 degrees makes an exact degree opposition to Mars in Virgo. If you can decipher astrological charts, here’s how it looks:
Squares are always challenging aspects in astrology, and one square between Pluto and anything can be shaky enough, but look at the geometry in this!
Karma’s relationship season starts with what can be imagined as an eruption from the underbelly of your past, while the Sun in Cancer opposes Pluto in Aquarius. The Sun-Pluto opposition feels like your tribe / society/ the world at large is opposing your core desires around Cancer/4th house themes: home, the nurturing comfort of the family — or lack of it — your house, property, your land/ your country. In an exact degree opposition, further enhanced by the double squares (Pluto & the Nodes / the Sun and the Nodes) can become explosive.
Pluto squaring the Lunar Nodes in the relationship axis Aries-Libra shows power struggles for control in… yes, relationships. Because we’re talking about the Lunar Nodes, these struggles are replaying a karmic story for you to balance now. Think about what happened 18 to 19 years ago, (or 18 to 19 years prior to that, if you were around). Essentially, life is bringing you a situation where you need to learn a new facet of the story. The story is along Aries-Libra: individuality vs commitment. Me vs We. Who I am and who I am in a relationship. My intuition is that the coming 18 month lunar nodes transit — and particularly this square with Pluto brings awakenings for those that have made the relationship part of their ‘who I am’. Relationships may last for a lifetime — or not. Another twist of the story might be when, after a period of sailing life alone, you meet someone who you could couple with, but as charming as it may feel, it brings struggle for control, on either side. This is in families, shown by the Sun in Cancer. So what’s the karmic aspect? Ever been controlled in a relationship? Would you play that again in your life? Will you experience how being controlling is this time? Will you choose to say, ‘I know where this is going, I’m opting for something else’? Your decision! Nothing is already set in stone. This is where we have free will.
On this relationship-themed season, the exact degree opposition between Saturn in Pisces — in the 12th house, and Mars in Virgo in the 6th house. This is a manual example of an opposition that translates into: don’t overdo work, because you’ll sink the ship! Virgo and the 6th house are everything related to work, health, service, work-life balance, and Mars is powering through all these. Mars in the work & service sign can mean overwork to exhaustion! opposing Saturn in the 12th house/Pisces, in the house of the subconscious, shows that not only you’ll end up physically drained, your mental health will be affected too. And this has enough probability even without the Pluto-Sun opposition, rectangle with the Lunar Nodes.
Pluto squares the Nodes starting July 6, but the maximum intensity and opposition with the Sun is on July 21–22–23, when this cosmic rectangle shows in the chart.
So, what I would advise for this period is wise work management, not taking in extra projects and responsibilities thinking you’ll power through. Rather, prepare by taking things off your plate. Don’t rely heavily on anything involving 12th house (meditation, therapy, mediumship) or work-health related stuff (6th house), so you decrease the impact of these transits. Don’t over-promise delivering on deadlines around these dates (July 21–22–23), because you risk overloading yourself, as difficulties will challenge you (Saturn in opposition in exact degree).
On the relationships side — and working out karma — the more wise you are, the less you are likely to act on the negative side of the potential spectrum. So act as compassionate and unjudgemental as you can, so you don’t further charge anything that might come up. If you are triggered, stand up for yourself, and also think what would it be like to walk a mile the other person’s shoes. That will help with decreasing the intensity of the experiences that follow.
I wish you a peaceful summer!
