we’ll be dancing to the drum of which songs?
I think like most people, I started studying astrology trying to figure out what’s happening, while living through a phase in my life when everything suddenly felt harder and I didn’t understand ‘why is all this happening to me’?
I didn’t knew then — but I know now — I was going through my Saturn return (around age 29, and it lasts for about two and a half years). This is when real adult life brings the first challenges which are meant to help us develop our life understanding, not make our lives harder (or easier).
After that, I stumbled upon a numerology book and read it over a weekend as a way to relax, and guess what? I found some interesting concepts that explain the unfolding cycles of the human life.
So after studying for a few years, finally I feel like I have some idea of what the future will bring, and it feels like: enjoy now! Because what’s coming is so damn different and challenging, unless you are the type who likes to live in ever changing settings. This is an intuitive interpretation, using the archetypal symbols of major transits (outer planets).
So what is the next decade bringing about?
Before I continue, I must say this: don’t just rely on anybody’s (me included) interpretation of astrology; any intuitive approach to understanding major life transits needs to be fact-checked. Sometimes you can even get more clarity on what to dive deeper into and where to research, test or consult the doctor, the lawyer, the therapist or the specialist in any significant decision. For me, astrology is complementary to using my reason and analytical mind; have this in mind while reading forward.
First, let’s look at Saturn, and the major challenges it brings for humanity (If you want also the backstory for Saturn, here it is: What Saturn means in astrology: from myth to 2023’s Saturn in Pisces):
Saturn cycles: Major lessons and challenges
2023–2025: Saturn in Pisces, I wrote at large about it here. Saturn in Pisces will test our mental strength and, indirectly, our ability to maintain our wellbeing (opposition to Virgo, the sign of work and health). The relationship is simple: if you’re involved in situations that stray you from your soul’s path, you’ll be challenged until you find your way back to living in harmony with the divine principle, which results in a state of peace and wellbeing.
2025–2028: Saturn in Aries May 24, 2025 — Sep 1, 2025 and Feb 13, 2026 — Apr 12, 2028
If you think there’s a major hype around voluntary gender identification and a wide buzz around gender issues, wait for Saturn in Aries. My intuition is that it will put wind to the fire. The conversation will amplify. The phenomenon among teenagers that embrace the discussion of gender fluidity because it’s something new, cool and beyond the borders of what’s accepted by adults, will reach new waves (there are at least 2 major transits enabling this, the Saturn in Aries and Neptune in Aries).
Also, with the development of AI (an Aquarius theme, we’re in for it expanding with Pluto in Aquarius), two generations will go through their Saturn Return in Aries: those who in 2025 will be around 29 years old and those who will be around 58 years old. So a cohort of Gen X born when Saturn was in Aries (Mar 3, 1967 — Apr 29, 1969) and a cohort of Gen Z, born with Saturn in Aries from Apr 7, 1996 — Jun 9, 1998 and Oct 25, 1998 — Feb 28, 1999.
People with Saturn in Aries will face their Saturn Return, so the maturity test (first Saturn Return, 2 and a half years, around age 29) and the midlife assessment (second Saturn Return, approximately age 58–60). Aries is all about the image, reputation, self identity, and self expression. Anything regarding our true self expression becomes challenged. Until 2026, we have Neptune in Pisces (since 2011), but starting 2026, Neptune enters Aries on Jan 26, 2026. For a very brief description, a Neptune transit makes the veil between reality and fantasy even thinner — and doing so in the sign of Aries — will evaporate some current barriers to self expression — and take identifying the personal values that define one self further into the realm of fantasy. Neptune takes around 164 years to circle the Zodiac, approximately 13 years in each sign, so we don’t have alive today anyone born with Neptune in Aries, but the generation born with Neptune in Aries, children of Millennials and Gen Z, will take human expression into uncharted territory. Why? now we go back to Pluto in Aquarius.
Remember Pluto in Aquarius, starting March,23, 2023? That will be an influence until 2045. Aquarius is the sign of humanity at large, society, people, advancement, technological evolution and service to humanity. Aquarius brings an energy of tolerance for developments of technology. As I’m writing this, there’s a buzz about Chat GPT 4 and I read the other day that in March 2023 alone, 1000+ AI tools were released. And I would say that’s synchronistic with Pluto entering Aquarius. What will social media look like in 3, 4, 7, 10 years? will holograms become as mainstream as FaceTime today? will we actually be able to live in our own generated Virtual Reality in, say, 10 years? So if I’m depressed because it’s raining horizontally where I live, I could turn on a new reality setting and enable the ‘Costa Rica’ environment. This phenomenon is also supported by two major transits, Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn in Gemini.
Transport revolution
What was sci-fi 20 years ago, may not be fiction anymore. Remember Star Trek, where they had teleportation? with Uranus about to go in Gemini in 2026, that’s another fast lane for another revolution involving anything digital/Internet/travel/communication. Gemini is the sign of communication, trade, the Internet, social media, siblings, neighbors and siblings. I don’t know if teleportation will be feasible in the next 10 years, but for sure we’ll have revolutionary (Uranus) advancements in transportation and connection between neighboring cities and countries (Gemini). Maybe the drone taxis will become something usual in all cities, not just Dubai (and it’s a synchronicity that the estimated launch for the public is 2026, when Uranus goes into Gemini).
Saturn in Taurus, the earned money sign — opposing Scorpio, the shared money sign, Apr 12, 2028 — May 31, 2030
What does that sound like? To me, that sounds like our current business models will be challenged. Let’s add that in June-July 2028, we’ll have the square (1 degree orb) between Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn in Taurus (and a longer term square Pluto in Aquarius to Chiron in Taurus) and in Dec 2029, we’ll have a Saturn in Taurus opposition to Jupiter in Scorpio. All these translate into shaky events for the world economy, that affect our income and material possessions, and also the stock markets (Scorpio). With Uranus in Gemini, the sign of trade, transportation and everything related to the Internet, this might imply some shock regarding the global communication system; perhaps an Internet split/ interruption of some sorts? Plus, the square between Pluto in Aquarius and Chiron in Taurus, tells me our business models in place at the time are challenged, in order to power a more healthy, sustainable model, that empowers all the people.
Meanwhile, the Lunar Nodes will bring karma to be balanced in different life areas.
North Node and South Node transits 2023–2030
Jul 2023 — Jan 2025: self affirmation vs commitment in relationships (the Aries-Libra axis); I’ve written about this at large here, I’m super passionate about the story the Nodes can tell about our psyche.
Jan 2025 — Jul 2026: Pisces-Virgo axis; mental health and physical health. If you read this now and you know you’re not taking good care of your body, please start doing what you know it’s right or ask for help. This Lunar Nodes cycle is when you pay your karmic debts with your health (mental and physical); better to have lots of health in store by Jan 2025 (I mean, biological energy in your body, which happens when you eat right, rest enough, move your body and don’t overstress!)
Jul 2026 — Jan 2028: the Aquarius — Leo axis; this brings issues around the relationship with the children in our life, in the context of incredibly fast technological advancement. This is a textbook situation of tension between generations. This happens when one generation (usually the younger one) embraces new technologies which shift their lifestyle drastically and they are out of touch with the older generation (18 to 19 years / 36 to 37 years older and 56–57 years older). I can only wish us parents to keep up with technology so we at least know what our kids’ reality will be in 2026–2027 and onward.
Jan 2028 — Jul 2030: the Capricorn — Cancer axis. This is the opposition between career/status/social lader (Capricorn) and home/family/home-making (Cancer). My intuition is that this will shake primarily the more paternalistic societies, where women still don’t have basic rights, such as travelling and working without a male consent (father or husband). The Nodes take 18.6 years to go a full circle of the zodiac, and if today, in the western societies, women have rights to own property, study, make reproductive choices, have careers— it’s because the major shake-ups happened in previous Lunar Nodes transits (think about the major changes in society, in the 50’s, 60’s, ‘70s). However, any transit through Cancer will bring some family issues to the table, by opposition to the career sector, and this will be felt in every family.
Scared? Excited? Any transit brings events and potential both on the negative and the positive side of the spectrum. It’s not all doom and gloom. We are witnessing unprecedented change on a global scale, and I think a better approach is to use our creativity to put to use whatever comes new so we improve our lives and preserve our planet in the same time. An alternative is to withdraw in what is familiar (the old), while fearing & judging the new. This won’t bring us very far. I wish you patience and wisdom (same for me, I have to raise teenagers in the 20’s).
